Is Redken Detox Hair Cleansing Cream Clarifying Shampoo Good?

The Redken Detox Hair Cleansing Cream is a clarifying shampoo that can be used on all different kinds and textures of hair. It eliminates product buildup, excess oil, and pollution residue with only one usage! The AHA Fruit Acid & Cleansing Complex is included in Hair Cleansing Cream, which not only thoroughly cleans the hair but also fortifies it.

Personal Experience

For many years, the Neutrogena clarifying shampoo has been my go-to purchase. It has a very pungent smell and has the potential to cause my fine hair to become frizzy. It accomplishes its job well, although it may be irritating to the skin and needs intensive moisturizing after use. Because I solely put my faith in the Redken brand, I always make sure to wash my hair with its corresponding products. Because of this, as soon as I spotted this product, I went out and bought it in the eager anticipation that it would be able to take the place of the Neutrogena shampoo.

To begin, the name may give the wrong impression. It is a shampoo, not a cream, as the name suggests. The shampoo lathers but does not have a sharp sensation, and the fragrance is not overpowering as all. After I washed my hair, I applied a conditioning treatment with Redken All Soft Mega Mask. When it was dry, my hair had a lustrous shine and was very soft, buoyant, and manageable. The moisture seems to have penetrated my scalp as well. It was obvious that the build-up had been removed since the hue had become lighter.

In conclusion, I experienced far better outcomes with this one than I did with Neutrogena. I would strongly suggest using this product on your hair if it is thin, brittle, or otherwise delicate. As a side note, I would like to mention that prior to getting my hair colored, I used this shampoo. Wow! What a transformation this brings about! My hair accepted the color more evenly, and it lightened up as a result, which is the ideal result for coloring hair. The hair is glossy and very smooth. I’m in love

Pros of Redken Detox Hair Cleansing Cream Clarifying Shampoo

Murray Said: I wanted to try out the product for my wash day routine, so I purchased the smaller amount available. For some reason, I only use clarifying shampoo once in a while, but it works like a charm if you have hard water or a lot of product buildup on your hair. I brought back part of my natural curl pattern while keeping the texture springy and bouncy. (On a side note, I utilized a conditioning treatment before to washing with this detox cleanser to prevent my hair from drying out.) The lather is a medium suds, and washing with it did take temporary color from the hair. Excellent to apply immediately before coloring your hair to remove any traces of stink and to ensure that the cuticles of your hair are prepared for the coloring process.

K.S added: When it comes to the realm of beauty, “detox” is a jargon that, most of the time, doesn’t imply anything at all. On the other hand, hair salons will use clarifying shampoo in conjunction with a conditioner on your hair in order to leave it feeling so smooth when you leave. They do what it says on the package, which is to remove buildup of oil, minerals in your water, product, etc., and that stuff is what causes our hair to feel more coarse, heavy, and easily tangled. These products do what they say they will do.

I really recommend the clarifying shampoo from Redken. When I don’t use it at all for a stretch of time, I notice a significant difference in the texture of my hair compared to when I use it at least once every other week. Because it is too powerful and unneeded for everyday usage, the price is easier to explain because the product will endure for a very long time.

Erak Concluded: I needed to get rid of some old permanent coloring that had become brassy, so I purchased this product in preparation for getting new highlights. I combined it with a half cup of ascorbic acid and applied the mixture to my hair before letting it set for half an hour.

I was prepared for, at most, a color repair that was gradual, and I intended to carry out this process numerous times before I saw any substantial fading. But with just one application, I was astounded by how well it neutralized the deeper as well as the brighter tones. The fact that it restored the curl structure, which had been severely compromised for a long time due to the damage caused by bleach, dye, toners, and products, was the aspect that most pleased me about it.

Clarifying was probably primarily responsible for the improvement in color, while vitamin C was responsible for the revitalization of the texture. This shampoo, like many clarifying shampoos, has a very drying effect. I follow up this treatment with a 40-minute application of an Olaplex 3 follow-up mask, a Blondme bonding mask, and a Redken Soft conditioner. In addition to that, I would put in some jojoba or Levanter oil. Because you need to remove all residue before you can see the genuine lightness of your hair after bleaching or coloring it, I want to repeat this process two or three more times before continuing. For instance, I was quite aback to see that several of my conclusion levels were between 9 and 10. That implies I can reduce the amount of work I put in and yet get better outcomes.

And despite the fact that I’m not very enthusiastic about Redken’s use of scents and other chemicals, the product was efficient while causing just little harm. In an industry that is notorious for being unregulated, pricey, overhyped, and sometimes containing dangerous ingredients, it honestly surprises me when goods live up to their claims.

Cons of Redken Detox Hair Cleansing Cream Clarifying Shampoo

Nicole H. Said: I have Type 4 hair, which means that I have different types of hair in different parts of my head according to the 4A/4B/4C scale. Because of this, I was a bit anxious when I put this product on my head at first, and I didn’t achieve a decent lather. I decided to purchase this item because, as of late, my scalp has been very itchy even if I’ve just washed my hair a day or two before, and I hoped that it would not completely strip my hair but would help alleviate some of the issues I’ve been having with my scalp. I was mistaken about both of these things. After a second round with the shampoo, my hair was squeaky clean, wonderfully shining, and sadly tangled (I didn’t wash my hair in portions), and my scalp felt more than a little better. It had been a few months since it had felt this good. If you allow it, this WILL tangle the hell out of your hair, but even if you do, you’ll finish your wash with a wonderfully clean slate for your next style. There’s no getting around the fact that this WILL tangle the heck out of your hair.

Ceedy Said: Just in case I didn’t end up liking it, I went with the smallest size available. No safety seal was present in my case, which was my primary worry.  Whenever I wash my hair, I just use a very minimal quantity of product. Both the appearance and the aroma were quite similar to that of standard shampoo. The shampoo lathered up similarly to conventional shampoo. However, when I was drying and styling my hair, I found that it was very dry and difficult to style.

Final Verdict:

This shampoo is just incredible. My hair became lifeless and weighed down, and it had a rusty tint to it. This fantastic shampoo was able to eliminate all traces of residue, leaving my hair looking as shiny as crystal and providing both bounce and elasticity. It is well worth the cost.
