Over time, hair can build up with product buildup if you use styling products on it daily. To eliminate this buildup and have your hair feeling as soft as possible, try using Amika’s Reset Clarifying Gel Shampoo. This shampoo cleanses your hair of impurities and removes any residue from styling products so that your hair feels fresh again, and you can feel good about the natural beauty of your locks!
After much thought, I decided to try out Amika’s new clarifying shampoo. I have been looking for a shampoo that will draw out impurities and revive volume in my hair. My first impression of Amika’s product was that it is packaged very nicely. The box is not too big or small and it has a magnetic closure. It also has a little window so you can see what color your shampoo is before you open it up. I was drawn to the light purple bottle with dark purple designs on it because purple is my favorite color! When I opened up my package, I noticed how nice their branding looks on everything they have included in their packaging. It makes me feel like they really care about their products.
I tried out the shampoo right away when I got home from work. It has a fresh scent to it which is different than any other shampoos I have used in the past. The smell did not last long though, but after washing my hair with it, my hair smelled amazing! Not only did it smell great but it made my hair feel soft and clean afterwards as well. This product does exactly what it says: draws out impurities while leaving your hair feeling clean and full of volume! This would be perfect for anyone who wants to keep their natural look without having to use heat tools or chemicals every day on their own hair!
The Amika reset clarifying gel shampoo is one of my favorites. It helps remove product buildup, purges hair of oil and dirt, replenishes moisture, revives volume and draws out impurities in my hair. I’ve been using it since late May and I haven’t noticed any buildup so far but it did make my hair smoother when used regularly. Since mid-June I haven’t been using any product on my hair except to hold curl in hot humid weather but all other times I let it dry naturally or with some mousse/gel to control frizziness/flyaways. My hair was clean as usual after cleansing. So for me that alone says a lot about how effective Amika Reset can be at removing product buildup. Usually there are at least some flakes of residue left behind even if it doesn’t feel greasy but not with this! For those who are curious about how much foam from a gel comes from lathering and rinsing – very little! When applied generously you get a lot of foam which then becomes almost entirely liquid once you start massaging your scalp.
Pros of Amika Reset Clarifying Gel Shampoo
Jessica Said: After only one use, I noticed that my hair seemed fuller and had more volume. A word of advice: a little bit goes a long way! I have hair that is waist long, and if I put a little amount in the middle of my palm, it will froth up enough to cover everything. Also, I really like the scent, and even after I wash it, it continues to be there.
Porter Said: It’s hard to put my finger on exactly how the aroma smells, but it’s light and airy and not at all overbearing. The perfume is absolutely great. I really like how it has a gel-like consistency, and extra points for being naturally pink! Moreover, it foams up even in the absence of sulfates. I believe that it explains very effectively without pulling away anything. However, despite the fact that it is quite pricey, I anticipate purchasing it again in the near future.
Stacey M. Said: This is something I have only used once, but I already adore it! My hair seems to be more clean and smooth, without having the impression of being dry. I was seeking for a clarifying shampoo that wouldn’t leave my hair very dry, and I was successful in finding one. Because I don’t want to always use the same shampoo, I will switch to a different brand from time to time.
Cons of Amika Reset Clarifying Gel Shampoo
Britt Said: Because I like the Amika dry shampoo that I already own, I thought it would be fun to test out something new. This product has such a pleasant aroma, and it has left my hair feeling really smooth, clean, and supple. The price point for what you are receiving, which is the main disadvantage, is somewhat high, as is the case with many other similar products.
SCam30 Added: After being washed, the hair had a fantastically clean and fresh sensation, and it was really supple. When I washed my hair, I was hopeful that today would be the day that I would not notice any oily roots, but I was wrong.
Naurel Said: I have an abundance of hair that is of a considerable length. I have an oily scalp and find it uncomfortable to wash my own hair. Even at home, I still only wash it once a week, which is not nearly enough to remove all of the dirt. In order for this product to work well on my scalp, I need to first use a separate clarifying shampoo and then use a scalp scrubbing brush. It has a lovely aroma and is appropriate for use on a daily basis, but using it alone will not be adequate to clean the hair.
I would recommend Amika’s clarifying gel shampoo for someone who washes their hair daily and needs to replenish moisture back into their hair, and wants a product that will purges their hair of oil and dirt without stripping it of all its natural oils. I think for most people though you would get better results using your regular shampoo and using a leave-in conditioner on the ends. If you were looking to add extra volume to your hair, I wouldn’t recommend it because I feel like my roots never got as clean as they should have because my scalp produces so much oil that I need something with more cleaning power than what is offered in this shampoo.
