Things that surprised me

First off, Anomaly’s new shampoo (called Anomaly Charcoal Clarifying Shampoo) is sulfate-free. I was surprised because sulfates are a common ingredient in many clarifying shampoos, but Anomaly chose to leave them out. In their place they used a gentle surfactant called sodium cocoamphoacetate (also known as SAP or coco betaine), which works great to cleanse dirt and excess build up without stripping hair of its natural oils. So while I was initially surprised by sulfate-free formula, I like it just as much as other clarifying shampoos I’ve tried—though others may not!

The second thing that surprised me about Anomaly Charcoal Clarifying Shampoo is that it contains both eucalyptus extract and charcoal powder. The former helps to stimulate circulation, reduce scalp itchiness, and clear pores; while charcoal powder helps absorb excess oil on your scalp. This makes it an excellent choice for anyone with an oily scalp or anyone who wants to help prevent build up from forming in their hair after frequent use of products like dry shampoo.

The final thing that surprised me about Anomaly Charcoal Clarifying Shampoo is how well it worked at removing product buildup from my hair! Because I have fine hair that easily gets weighed down by products, I often use dry shampoo several times per week. But after using Anomaly’s clarifying shampoo a few times over a two-week period, I found that my hair was less weighed down and easier to style than usual.

That said, because of its gentle formula you shouldn’t expect Anomaly Charcoal Clarifying Shampoo to remove all product build up on its own—you’ll still need to use a clarifying shampoo once or twice per month if you regularly use styling products like dry shampoo or gels.

Overall, I’m very impressed with Anomaly Charcoal Clarifying Shampoo and would recommend it to anyone who wants an affordable yet effective way to remove excess build up from their scalp and prevent future build up as well!

Things I did not like about this product

I love Anomaly products and would like to purchase more but my hair is so thick and frizzy that I don’t think anything can tame it so getting rid of build up is essential. With that being said, it has been helping me a lot lately (although something about my skin makes it seem as if I need to wash my hair more than others). Other people may not have an issue with build up or have issues with different things from myself but keep in mind that not everything will work for everyone. The bottle was small which isn’t necessarily bad because you only use a little bit each time but it does mean you go through it quickly. It also doesn’t lather much which is weird because most shampoos do and since charcoal shampoos are supposed to be good at getting all of your scalp clean they should lather well. However, since it did help me get rid of some build up on my scalp I didn’t mind too much that it didn’t lather well.

My thoughts on this product

I started using products from Anomaly a few months ago when my scalp was severely dry. I’m already sold on their hair products but after trying their shampoo, I’m definitely excited to share about them. Before switching to all-natural products, I tried many brands and types of shampoos. Even with non-toxic brands, my hair never looked and felt how it does now. The future of hair care & beauty products is purposeful sustainability and because of eco-friendly bottles ,like that of Anomaly, I can see myself purchasing more products in the future. This product has been around for quite some time which makes me trust it even more!
