In the past, I have tried clarifying shampoos that left my hair feeling like straw or even worse, caused me to break out. This Alberto V05 Tea Therapy Clarifying Shampoo was my first experience with tea tree oil shampoo and I am very impressed! After reading many positive reviews about this product, I decided to try it out myself! Upon opening the bottle, the smell hit me and it was amazing! It actually smells like tea! When using it in the shower, you don’t need to use a lot of product and it leaves your hair feeling soft and voluminous!
My Hair Before Using This Shampoo
My hair was full of product, and build-up and had a lot of damage from coloring. I used it a couple of times before writing my review because I wanted to get all of that out. So that’s why my hair looks longer than it actually is in these pictures! After a few washes, my hair felt so much softer, cleaner, and healthier. It was bouncy and light! My ends also looked less damaged too which made me happy! I have never seen results like that after only one use of any shampoo ever so I’m impressed!!
What I Liked About This Shampoo
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I actually liked using Alberto V05’s Tea Therapy clarifying shampoo. Although it is marketed as a clarifying shampoo, I didn’t really see that claim to be true based on my experience with other shampoos that were supposed to be clarifiers. The scent of tea is pleasant and it does a good job at cleaning my hair of buildup and product (I have just started using heat protectant so most of my buildup comes from that). Overall, I would say if you are looking for an affordable shampoo, then consider checking out Alberto V05’s tea therapy line! This is one that I would consider purchasing in the future once I use up what I have!
What I Did Not Like About This Shampoo
It did not work to clear up my hair. I used it for about three months, and by that time, my scalp was still covered in dandruff. This is definitely a product I would not recommend to people with dry or flaky scalps. However, if you have oily hair or are just looking for a more clarifying shampoo to get rid of buildup from other products, then by all means try it out! That’s basically what it did for me. It is also important to note that I use quite a bit of product in my hair when styling; Alberto V05 might work better on those who do not put as much gunk in their hair!
Personal Recommendation
I would recommend tea therapy clarifying shampoo to a friend. It is a great product, it makes your hair look and feels clean. The smell of it is very nice, I like how my hair feels when I use it. This shampoo is definitely better than other brands that I have used in the past. It gives your hair a deeper shine than most shampoos can do. The bottle was also a decent size, so you get more value for your money. The only downside to tea therapy clarifying shampoo that I found was that my scalp would sometimes get dry from using it too much, but with some conditioner or lotion on my scalp before applying it would fix any issues with dryness immediately!

8/10 – Recommended! For what it is, Alberto V05 delivers exactly what I wanted: volume and a clean feeling without drying out my hair or scalp. I will likely buy more of these in larger bottles as I really like Alberto’s shampoo line and think they’re good for both long-term daily use, and special occasions.
